Job summary

A premier food testing laboratory in Alberta is seeking a motivated individual to manage Quality Systems and documentation. Responsibilities include performing microbiological and chemical tests and supporting method validation in the laboratory. Applicants should have a diploma in a relevant field and strong analytical and communication skills. No experience is necessary. This role requires ability to work 5.5 days per week.

Ugene Lab (www.ugenelab.com) is the premier food testing laboratory. We provide customers with a broad range of microbiological and chemical testing, rapid testing, hygiene monitoring and specialized test methods developed to meet customer needs.

No experience graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage company Quality Systems and documentation.
• Manage audits by clients and accreditation bodies.
• Support lab in method validation.
• Perform tests in micro, chemistry or feed lab.
• Monitor and evaluate laboratory test results in LMS for accuracy and compliance with standard methods.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• ITE or Higher NITEC or Diploma in Food Science / Biomedical Science / Chemical Processing or its equivalent.
• Ability to understand and follow complex technical instructions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work independently and within a team-oriented environment.
• Pays close attention to detail and has strong analytical and organization skills
• Highly motivated individual who acts with integrity
• Able to work 5.5 days per week
