Overview

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Junior Recruiter on a permanent basis on our People & Culture team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early career professional to build HR knowledge and gain exposure across multiple industries. The successful candidate will expand their knowledge in recruitment, total rewards, and collective bargaining agreements. This position is a remote opportunity and can be based across Western Canada.

What you’ll do
  • Lead the recruitment process for positions across the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS). This includes creating sourcing plans, leading interviews, creating offer letters, assessing due diligence results, and managing post‑hire inquiries.
  • Create equitable salary recommendations leveraging knowledge of job profiles, internal salary structure, collective bargaining agreements, and the labour market.
  • Work with team leaders to create and distribute extension letters.
  • Travel approximately 25% to career events across Canada.
Who you’ll work with

You will work closely with hiring managers across the CRS, collaborating with People and Culture team members to meet their needs. You will report to one of two Supervisors, Talent Acquisition, who value collaboration, adaptability, and cohesion. You’ll be supported by a team of recruiters, HR administrators, and a senior sourcing specialist, united by a belief that people come first.

Who you are

You are looking for a career in Human Resources and Recruitment and:

  • Have 1–3 years of relevant experience in human resources.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Have experience providing support in client-facing roles.
