Overview

Responsibilities

Internal IS Support

  • Provide technical support for Tridon’s internal network, systems, and users (including hardware, software, and phone systems).
  • Assist with onboarding new users, creating accounts, and maintaining current user information.
  • Provide training for internal staff to effectively use the network and systems.
  • Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve any internal system issues.
  • Test and implement improvements to enhance the user experience on the internal network.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation to handle after-hours issues.

Enterprise Network Support

  • Assist in the technical quoting and design of network solutions for clients.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the Tridon Connect Enterprise Network (including broadband and two-way radio systems).
  • Provide technical support for network problems and emergencies on both internal and client-facing systems.
  • Help with network upgrades, including testing and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure network hardware and software are up-to-date and secure.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, issues, and solutions.
  • Assist in conducting network security audits and implementing best practices.

Administrative & Cross-Functional Support

  • Provide detailed technical documentation for network configurations and solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams like Service, Sales, and Engineering to resolve technical issues.
  • Stay current with new technologies, certifications, and industry trends.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior team members.
  • Develop and implement security procedures and policies for devices connecting to the network.

Cybersecurity & Network Maintenance

  • Perform regular security audits and ensure compliance with network security protocols.
  • Maintain and update firewalls, routers, and other network devices as required.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues to prevent downtime.
Qualifications

Education :

  • Successful completion of a Computing or Networking Technology Diploma.
  • CCNA certification (or in progress).

Experience :

  • 2–5 years of experience in IT and networking roles.
  • Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux Server environments.
  • Strong knowledge of network design principles and network security.

Other Requirements :

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or equivalent).
  • Expert in Microsoft 365 Products (Account Management)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong technical troubleshooting abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience with network monitoring, security, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for training and supporting users.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

We operate seven service shops in Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Edson, Hinton, Calgary, Saskatoon, and Terrace, British Columbia.
