Job summary

DGA Careers is seeking an Insurance Advisor for a role covering Personal Lines and Small Commercial. The successful candidate will build strong client relationships, provide exceptional service, and grow insurance expertise through hands-on training.

The position offers exposure to both personal and commercial lines within a supportive brokerage environment, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Alberta General Level 1 Insurance Licence is required.
• Up to 3+ years of personal lines, minimum 1 year of small commercial insurance experience.
• Ability to speak Punjabi is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience with Epic is considered an asset.
• Multitask, problem-solve, and stay detail oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to prompt, exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Sell new business and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Provide ongoing service to personal lines clients.
• Respond promptly to client questions via phone, email and in-person.
• Advise on insurance coverage options.
• Assess client needs and risks to recommend coverage.
• Identify gaps and calculate premiums.
• Enter and maintain client information in the brokerage system.
• Prepare applications and documentation for insurers.
• Issue insurance binders as required.
• Communicate with insurers and underwriters about changes and renewals.
• Follow up with adjusters on claims status.
• Update insurance summaries per client requests.
• Maintain activity records and manage workload.
• Follow branch workflows and procedures.
