Job summary

DGA Careers is seeking an Intermediate Commercial Underwriter for a Calgary-based, hybrid role with a growing Canadian Property & Casualty insurer. You will own accounts from submission to issuance, partner with brokers/MGAs, and contribute to technical underwriting with autonomy.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands-on underwriting experience, strong pricing skills, and a collaborative approach. Opportunity to influence guidelines, tools and processes in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience.
• Strong pricing, deductibles, limits and terms knowledge.
• Independent assessment of new and renewal business.
• Excellent broker relationship and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess new and renewal Commercial Property & Casualty business.
• Partner with brokers and MGAs; own accounts from submission to issuance.
• Contribute to subscription, portfolio and program underwriting initiatives.
• Support guideline/tools development and process improvements.
