Job summary

Bartle & Gibson Co. is seeking a customer-focused Counter Sales position in Western Canada. You will respond to inquiries, process orders, upsell products, and source materials for customers while maintaining deep product knowledge.

You will engage with institutional and contractor customers, manage quotes, build long-term relationships, and contribute to a high standard of customer service. A fast-paced environment requires strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years sales experience (counter/inside/outside).
• Knowledge of electrical/plumbing products or industry.
• Experience serving institutional/industrial purchasers and contractors.
• Post-secondary electrical courses are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries and process incoming calls and orders.
• Contact current customers and identify new products and upsell.
• Enter orders into the system.
• Source materials for customers when not in stock.
• Maintain knowledge base on products and learn new items.
• Provide product information, pricing quotations, and follow up on quotes.
• Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Ensure customers are satisfied with order taking, product, pricing, deliveries, and service.
• Support Counter Sales and handle returns as required.
• Collaborate with others to meet customer needs.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

• Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders
• Contacting current customers and identifying new products and potential up-selling
• Entering orders into the system
• Sourcing materials for customers when currently not in stock
• Maintaining knowledge base on current products and learning about new products
• Providing product information, pricing quotations, and follow-up on quotes
• Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Ensuring that customers are satisfied with order taking, product, pricing, deliveries, and overall service
• Supporting Counter Sales and handling returns as required
• Working closely with others to ensure customer needs are met
• Other duties as required

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum of two years sales experience (counter sales, inside sales or outside sales)required

• Skilled in serving and negotiating with institutional and industrial purchasers, electrical contractors, and the public
• Knowledge of the electrical industry or a background in plumbing productsrequired
