Job description

Your expertise allows you to navigate complex sites and handle sensitive utilities with confidence.

Join the Ledcor Technical Services team today and play a key role in advancing telecommunications infrastructure in Kitchener, ON.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Daylighting and soft excavating for telecommunication, hydro, gas, and water
  • Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, Ontario Infrastructure guidelines and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections by following company policies and procedure for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure Hydro Vac is clean and operating properly
  • Complete all required paperwork daily
  • Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures by Hydrovac operation
  • Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience operating a Hydro Vac (experience with Rival HVACs is an asset).
  • Proficient in reading and understanding design drawings.
  • Capable of reading locates and identifying discrepancies in the field.
  • Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have and maintain a valid AZ or DZ driver’s license and be able to provide a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret their needs, and identify solutions.
Working Conditions
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.
  • Travel to various sites in the surrounding Kitchener, ON area
  • Working outdoors in various weather conditions
Compensation

$35.98 - $44.82 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
