Job description
About the Position

Currently, Technica is seeking a self‑motivated individuals to join our growing team as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in Mine Development. These positions are available in our shop setting or on the beat and will assist the maintenance team in maintaining and progressing our long‑term, local development projects in various locations in Sudbury, Ontario. We are actively seeking to fill these positions to support the continued success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support local projects across our Sudbury, Ontario work sites.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures of motorized equipment.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance to ensure work meets manufacturers specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date service logs and documentation.
  • Order parts as required to complete repairs.
  • Follow daily line‑ups and execute scheduled work in accordance with health and safety standards as well as manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
  • 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician - Journey Person Candidate or;
  • Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician or;
  • Licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician
  • Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002, & U00012) or equivalent provincial designation is preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years' underground experience is preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Strong technical aptitude to use digital platforms used for work orders, email, etc.
  • High level of self‑motivation and autonomy
  • Ability to work as a team and independently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
  • Familiar with CAT, Epiroc, and/or MacLean equipment is preferred
