Job summary

A regional health authority in Manitoba is seeking a Health Care Aide to provide support and assistance to patients in daily living activities. This is a temporary position with hours worked 7.75 daily, offering a salary range of $22.01 - $26.03.

Qualifications

• One to two years' experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience caring for elderly or disabled clients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to residents/patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Engage in education and certifications to maintain competency.
• Work under the leadership of nursing staff.

Skills

Knowledge of Confidentiality/privacy requirements following The Personal Health Information Act

Knowledge of Workplace safety requirements following WHMIS

Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population

Ability to interact well with others

Education

Health Care Aide Certificate from recognized program

Minimum Grade 12
