Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. seeks a Health Care Aide to join our care team, supporting daily resident care under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse. You will assist with bathing, transfers, feeding, and mobility across the facility to promote comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates bring a PCA/HCA certificate, English fluency, and registration with CLHA; at least one year in continuing care is preferred. A benefits package and career growth opportunities await in our Alberta communities.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment is preferred.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the care plan and safety procedures.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers using ceiling lifts, mechanical lifts, and transfer belts.
• Feed/assist with meals and refer to care plans for dietary needs.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures under supervision of the Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents to travel about the facility and to and from dining areas.
• Accompany residents to social, therapy, and recreation activities inside the facility.
