Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team in Edmonton. The role supports residents under the supervision of a Staff Nurse, providing safe basic care and services to meet individual needs within competency levels.

You will collaborate with the care team, assist with activities of daily living, mobility, meals, and social/therapy engagements while upholding resident dignity and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Fluent English in spoken and written form.
• 1 year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents per care plan and water temperature controls.
• Assist transfers using ceiling lifts and PPE.
• Feed residents during meals and snacks.
• Refer to care plan for appropriate diet modifications.
• Provide routine treatments under direction of Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents to travel about the facility.
• Assist residents to and from the Dining Room for meals.
• Assist mobility with walkers or wheelchairs and positioning chairs.
• Escort residents to social, therapy, and recreation activities.
