Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team. Under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will deliver safe basic care and services to residents, supporting comfort, dignity and well-being.

The role involves bathing, transfers, feeding, routine treatments, mobility support, and helping residents participate in activities. A PCA/HCA certificate or equivalent education and active ALBERTA registration are required.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate course (2002 or greater).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to care plans and safety procedures.
• Transfer/assist residents with transfers using ceiling/mechanical lifts and transfer belts.
• Feed residents during meals and assist with nourishment according to dietary plans.
• Provide routine treatments and care under supervision of the staff nurse.
• Assist residents to move around the facility and to dining areas.
• Support residents to attend activities, therapy, and social events within the facility.
