Job summary

Farm Boy is seeking a Department Manager to lead a high‑performing team and deliver exceptional customer service. You will coach staff, manage daily operations, and partner with the Department Manager to implement strategies that drive sales and standards.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will oversee inventory, schedule maintenance, payroll functions, and compliance with health and safety policies

Qualifications

• Post-secondary program with emphasis in business and a minimum of 1 year supervisor or management experience, or equivalent.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills with professional communication.
• Comfort with using manual and automated systems and various software programs.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident customer service reflecting Farm Boy's shopping experience.
• Collaborate with Department Manager to execute departmental strategies and goals.
• Support team development through training, coaching, motivation, and recognition.
• Lead regular team huddles to share goals, feedback, and product knowledge.
• Support daily operations including merchandising, staffing, and department cleanliness.
• Provide office and administrative support, including inventory, ordering, invoicing, scheduling, and payroll.
• Promote safety policies and provincial regulations to maintain a safe environment.
• Contribute to store success by assisting with related duties as required.
