Currently we are seeking a General Labourer to join the team at our Wheelshop in Hamilton, Ontario, performing the loading, unloading, movement and organization of materials.

Position: General Labourer

Employment Status: Permanent, Fulltime

Schedule: Shift work, overtime and weekends as required.

Start Date: Immediately

Key Job Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move materials from different types of equipment such as flatbed trailers, box trailers, containers, box rail cars and center beam rail cars.
• Sort, crate and stack materials.
• Assist and coordinate with machine operators and other shop floor processes.
• Communicate with inbound truck drivers, obtaining paperwork and verifying material quantities.
• Communicate with outbound truck drivers, verifying bills of lading to carriers and signing paperwork on departure.
• Adhere to and promote safety protocols.

Education And Experience

• High‑school Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years experience safely acting as a general labourer.
• A moderate comfort level with computers and role-associated technology.
• Forklift Operator certificate a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
• Ability to perform physical activities that require full-body mobility, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and standing for an extended period.
• Ability to lift 50 lb in a safe manner.
• Occasionally work outdoors in adverse conditions.
