Job summary

Paladin Security is hiring a Security Guard for our client site at Ingredion in Ontario. The role involves protecting assets, patrolling and responding to alarms, while coordinating with police, fire, and paramedics as needed.

The successful candidate must hold a valid Ontario Security License and First Aid & CPR Level C, be fluent in English, and willing to perform first aid when required. Shift hours include Mon-Thu 3PM–11PM and Fri 3PM–8PM, with overtime under AA after 88 hours.

The site includes production equipment, bulk storage, and controlled-access areas requiring perimeter patrols and strict adherence to safety standards. Security personnel protect assets, enforce site protocols, and support operational continuity.

Position: Security Guard

Site: Ingredion

Status: Full Time

Hours: Monday-Thursday (3PM to 11PM), Friday (3PM to 8PM)

Pay Rate: $20/hour

Posting Date: October 15, 2026

Internal Closing Date: October 22, 2026

External Closing Date: November 15, 2026

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist visitors, and employee during crisis and contact the necessary emergency services as needed
• Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly
• Enthusiastically conduct proactive patrols (exterior and Interior), and be able to address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.
• Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner as not to create a panic amongst the public
• Ability to de-escalate a crisis, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including; police, fire and paramedic resources.
• Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries
• Ability to provide first aid and medical response when required to any person
• Maintain positive and constructive relationships with The Client’s staff and external clients by providing timely and accurate support as required.
• Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client.

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Must wear 6-inch all-leather safety boots with ankle coverage
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Dispatch experience preferred

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the certifications with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
