Paladin Security is hiring a Full-Time Security Guard for the University Health Network Westpark site in Toronto. You will patrol, respond to incidents, write reports, and assist people in distress while maintaining excellent customer service. The role requires a valid Ontario security license, First Aid/CPR, and fitness for long shifts.

Training and benefits are included; daily pay option available. Shifts include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with overtime averaging, and legal eligibility to work in

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario security license is required.
• First Aid & CPR Level C from WSIB provider.
• Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Covid vaccines, TB test.
• English fluency (oral and written).
• Minimum 1 year security or related experience is an asset.
• Must pass N95 mask fit testing with clean-shave.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Degree in Police Foundations or related field is an asset.
• Certification in Use of Force (UOF) and MOAB preferred or training available.

Site: University Health Network Westpark

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement

Pay rate: $20.03/hr. - $22.53/hr. "based on leveling system"

Job Description:

• Working on assigned shifts, you will work full time shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents.
• You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner.
• You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance.
• In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Patrol assigned area on foot, as assigned, to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.
• Watch for and report irregularities by completing investigations and incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.
• Utilize two-way radio and computer applications for communicating site activities.
• Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when required.
• Offer support to any person in need such as providing good customer service when providing a security presence, such as providing direction, responding to emergency situation involving violent individuals and injuries.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella , Covid Vaccine two doses, and two step TB skin test
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• One year experience in security, or law enforcement is an asset
• Must be able to clean-shave for N95 mask fit testing
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services will be an asset
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
