Job summary

Paladin Security in Windsor, Ontario is seeking On-Call/Casual Security Guards. This role requires a valid Ontario Security License, First Aid/CPR Level C, and English fluency.

You will monitor cameras, control access, respond to emergencies, and assist visitors while maintaining a high level of customer service. The position is on an as-needed basis with no guaranteed hours; flexibility for overnight shifts and short-notice pickups is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security License
• First Aid & CPR - Level C
• G class Driver License is an asset
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Previous experience in security or related field preferred
• UOF/MOAB certifications required or training provided by Paladin

Responsibilities

• Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate cameras and alarms and report suspicious activity.
• Access Control: Monitor entry points and ensure only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
• Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in medical or security emergencies and assist staff during crises.
• Provide Customer Service: Greet visitors and staff, provide directions and enforce policies.
• Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts professionally.
• Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, and security concerns.
• Collaboration with Staff: Work with site staff and local law enforcement for coordinated security.
• Enforce Site Policies: Ensure policies are followed and safety standards are upheld

On-Call/Casual - Security Guard - Windsor

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Payrate: | $18.35 - $22.18/hour

Note: This position is "as needed". We do not guarantee minimum hours while employed as a casual security guard. Candidates must be flexible in their overnight availability and be able to pick up shifts short notice.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
• Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the site, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
• Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
• Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors and staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to policies and procedures.
• Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
• Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
• Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with site-level staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
• Enforce Site Policies: Ensure that site policies and protocols are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds safety standards

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Valid G class Driver License is an asset
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please note: The UoF/MOAB Certification is Unpaid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
