Paladin Security in Milton District Hospital is seeking a full-time Security Guard to patrol the hospital, monitor cameras, and manage access. The role includes responding to emergencies, assisting staff and visitors, and upholding safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises to ensure safety and security.
• Operate security cameras and alarm systems and report suspicious activity.
• Monitor entry points to allow access only to authorized individuals.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and assist staff during crises.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients and staff.
• De-escalate tense situations and document incidents accurately.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and local law enforcement.
• Ensure hospital policies and protocols are followed and address violations onsite.

Security Guard - Full Time - Milton District Hospital

• $19.63/hr– $22.09/hr,based on the levelling system.
• Training Requirement:All Level 3 training must be completed within 8 months.
• If training is not completed within this timeframe, the pay rate will beadjusted to the appropriate level based on completed requirements.

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
• Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
• Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
• Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
• Greeting and assisting visitors, patients, and hospital staff.
• De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
• Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately.
• Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort.
• Ensure all hospital policies protocols are followed.
• Address any violations onsite.

Requirements

• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services would be an asset
• Previous one year experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• Proof of double Covid Vaccination
• Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
• Able to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95 mask fit test
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is unpaid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
