Overview
We're seeking a Finance Assistant to join our client's team in Surrey, BC.
- Salary: $50,000 / year ($24 / hour)
- Job Type: Full-time, temporary
- Job Start: ASAP
- Location: Surrey, BC. 82nd Ave & 124 St
What You'll Do :
- Monitor and be responsible for Accounts Payable tasks and functions.
- Monitor and be responsible for Accounts Receivable tasks and functions.
- Prepare various reports using Excel macros.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and credit card statements.
- Reconcile and post weekly shipping invoices.
- Maintain accuracy, attention to detail & record keeping.
- Communicate in an effective & timely manner regarding client & vendor finance issues.
- Operate in a financially responsible manner.
- Complete assigned reporting & other tasks accurately, professionally & on schedule.
- Month-end closing entries.
- Assist with year-end processes.
Accounts Payable :
- Review and post vendor invoices for Purchase Orders.
- Review vendor statements for missing invoices and credits.
- Assist with weekly cheque and EFT run.
- Post company expenses and vendor invoices in QuickBooks.
- Complete vendor forms and credit applications.
Accounts Receivable :
- Post cheque, credit card, and direct deposit payments.
- Issue client statements for overdue accounts.
- Perform collection and follow-up with clients via phone and email.
- Review client profiles for credit limits and perform credit checks.
- Fill client forms and EFT forms.
What We're Looking For :
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience working in a similar role.
- QuickBooks experience is a MUST (Advanced).
- Intermediate Excel & MS Office knowledge.
- Ability to communicate promptly and professionally regarding client and vendor finance issues.
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams, including Customer Service, Fulfillment, and Sales.
- Work effectively as part of the Finance team to support clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Maintain open and timely communication on financial matters.
- Strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines & achieve company goals.
