Job description

Position Summary

This is a 0.30 FTE position at the Aspen Maternity and Women’s Health Clinic within Kootenary Boundary Regional Hospital. This role offers the option to design your own practice. The ideal candidate is a family physician with a passion for providing care for women and families, strong communication skills with both colleagues and patients, and a motivation to become an active member of the local medical community and to support diverse women and families.

The clinic is open weekdays. Evening and weekend call is rotated through the team, providing flexibility and a strong work-life balance and opportunities to enjoy the all-season recreation available within the Trail and Kootenay Boundary area.

Compensation details include level 1 MOCAP at $28.25 per hour. Billing uses LFP with FFS for the ward; all billings are pooled and divided per shift. Payment per shift ranges from $1,000 to $2,000 per day depending on volume. An additional $2,100 per quarter is provided as the FPSC maternity bonus.

Medical staff are covered by the Provincial Health Officer’s Expanded Public Health Order requiring mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for health care workers, effective October 26, 2021. Offers are conditional upon providing proof of vaccination status and meeting PHO Orders. Leadership development opportunities are available through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program, including the NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program for developing practical leadership knowledge and skills early in medical careers.
