Job summary

A forestry services provider is seeking an Equipment Operator to manage equipment operations and ensure safety and efficiency in a team-oriented environment. The role requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience operating heavy machinery and a valid Class 5 driver’s licence. The ideal candidate will be a mechanically inclined team player, committed to safety, willing to travel to various job sites. Competitive wages and excellent benefits are offered.

Equipment Operator BC Eco Industrial Services are looking for an Equipment Operator to join our chipping, grinding and Log Yard operations in South Okanagan to Boundary region BC. Position Benefits
  • Wage is $30-35 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Permanent Full-time role.
  • Overtime pay after 8 hours.
  • Schedules vary depending on location of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wheel Loader: moving chips, supplying the chippers with logs
  • Log Loader: unloading trucks, feeding the chippers, down decking logs
  • Chipper: feeding pulp logs
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
  • Operate other heavy equipment as required and instructed by site supervisors.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites as required.
  • Ensure company policies, core values and culture are being consistently upheld.
  • General job set-up, site clean up, and materials removal.
Required Qualifications & Skills

As a member of the BC Eco team, we expect you bring the following to the table:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience operating Wheel Loader, Log Loader or Excavator
  • Preferrable experience using a Chipper
  • Mechanical aptitude and capable of performing basic daily equipment maintenance is a necessity.
  • Motivated self-starter with positive attitude and proven safety record.
  • Experience running other types of heavy equipment would be an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
  • Physically fit and able to walk uneven ground, chip piles and log yard locations.
  • Team player who is willing to pitch in wherever needed.
