Job description
The Team

The Deloraine District Hospital is a 20 bed Acute care facility that includes Palliative Care and General Medical Care. The Hospital coordinates the delivery of a broad range of community and allied services within the Meander Valley. We strive to deliver personalised care in a calm, welcoming and warm environment while being innovative and having a can‑do attitude. Our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce and the Meander Valley community.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based care in accordance with the nursing care plan under the supervision of the registered nurse.
  • Participate in decision making with the multidisciplinary team to achieve planned patient outcomes.
  • Promote and participate in education activities, including preceptorship and orientation.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality and Safety and Work Health and Safety processes.
Qualifications (You will need)
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse - medication endorsed.
  • Practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia approved national competency standards for Enrolled nurses, legislation, education, experience and organisational policy.
  • Comply at all times with policy and protocol requirements, including those relating to mandatory education, training and assessment.
Details of appointment
  • Permanent, part‑time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‑time, part‑time, and casual vacancies.
Salary

$73,109 to $80,524 per annum (pro rata). Our employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. The salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439–$109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.

Salary Packaging

You’ll have access to a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year and other benefits if eligible.

Allowances
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.
  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance: additional salary allowance of 4%.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board‑approved qualification in administration of medicines).
