We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Engineering Project Technologist/EIT to join the Engineering department in the Utilities division. The Engineering Project Technologist/EIT reviews and assists in the long-term planning of municipal infrastructure upgrades. The successful candidate will work in a supportive team with the opportunity to attain a broad range of engineering experience. Desirable Training and Experience: The ideal candidate would have a minimum of three years’ experience in municipal infrastructure planning and design and a knowledge of common engineering design and construction practices. Strong computer abilities, attention to detail and accuracy, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Experience with hydraulic modelling software, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD would be an asset.
Project priorities are established by a superior and within those parameters an incumbent exercises considerable independence of judgement and action in the technical aspects of the work discussing difficult technical problems, policy and budgetary matters with a superior. Work performance is reviewed by a superior in terms of technical adequacy, conformance to established standards and practices and achievement of desired objectives.
Graduation from an Institute of Technology Diploma program in appropriate discipline or registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC plus related experience in municipal engineering.
