Job summary

affirm is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Marketing & Privacy Engineering (MPE) team in a remote-first Canada setting. You’ll lead two engineering pillars—Marketing and Consumer Privacy Engineering—and align their roadmaps with a shared mission to deliver privacy-aware, measurement-driven web experiences.

You’ll coach engineers, shape operating models, partner with product managers, and ensure reliable, scalable solutions across client- and server-side tagging, consent, and data

Qualifications

• Experience managing and developing software engineers, with a track record of building collaborative, high-performing teams through coaching, candid feedback, and accountability.
• Strong software engineering foundation and technical judgment, with experience leading teams for consumer-facing or high-traffic web platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and support engineers across Marketing and Consumer Privacy pillars.
• Establish and improve a shared operating model for the MPE team.
• Translate product priorities into engineering plans and roadmaps.
• Guide strategy across web tagging, measurement, consent, and data collection.
• Build partnerships across functions to ensure clear ownership and reliable processes.
• Ensure privacy-aware engineering by aligning growth, measurement, and privacy goals.
• Deliver reliable, scalable solutions balancing quality, speed, and business needs.
