Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Marketing & Privacy Engineering (MPE) team in a remote-first setup. You will lead two pillars—Marketing and Consumer Privacy Engineering—to build trusted, privacy-aware web experiences and measurement systems supporting sustainable growth.

You will partner with product managers, translate priorities into engineering plans, mentor engineers, and drive roadmaps across multiple domains while ensuring reliability and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Experience managing and developing software engineers with coaching, feedback, and accountability.
• Strong software engineering foundation and technical judgment for consumer-facing or high-traffic web platforms.
• Experience translating product and business priorities into engineering plans and leading execution across distinct domains.
• Ability to align Product, Engineering and stakeholders with clear communication.
• Sound judgment navigating ambiguity, dependencies and risk while balancing reliability and speed.
• Experience with marketing technology, web experimentation, analytics, attribution, instrumentation, or measurement systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, APPs) and privacy-aware systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and support engineers across Marketing and Consumer Privacy pillars, creating an environment for growth and accountability.
• Establish and continuously improve a shared operating model for MPE with clear priorities and ownership.
• Translate product and business priorities into engineering plans and deliver roadmaps aligned to MPE’s mission.
• Guide engineering strategy across Logged-Out Web, web experimentation, marketing integrations, attribution, consent, privacy experiences, and data collection.
• Build partnerships across Engineering, Product, Marketing, Privacy, Legal and adjacent teams for reliable cross-functional work.
• Ensure privacy-aware engineering by considering consent, cookies, tagging, and consumer data in solution design.
• Balance reliability, quality, and speed with business needs and risk management.
