~ Elementary. Please note this position is not in EDMONTON, it is located in a rural community in AB & MB, Candidates must be willing to relocate. The employer is pleased to offer partial financial assistance to support your relocation expenses, as well as subsidized housing.

Job Summary

The Teacher is the educational leader in the classroom, responsible for implementing the school curriculum to maximize student learning. The role includes supervising and evaluating students while upholding the values, policies, and cultural understanding of Cree nation. Teachers must adhere to the Alberta Teacher Quality Standards (TQS) and engage in ongoing supervision and evaluation throughout the school year.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education Degree.
  • Valid teaching certificate recognized by Alberta Education & Manitoba Education or be willing to apply for certificate
  • Connection to or willingness to learn the IndigenousLanguage and Culture.

  • Using diverse teaching and assessment strategies.

  • Promoting positive behavior, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Engaging with parents through home visits and establishing rapport.
  • Participating in extracurricular activities and performing additional duties as assigned.
