Job summary

A leading global manufacturer in Mississauga is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist to enhance and support HSE systems. This hybrid role requires managing safety programs and conducting risk assessments while assisting with trainings. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in occupational health and safety and strong communication skills.

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist

Join a dynamic global manufacturer of medical devices as a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist. In this role, you will enhance and support the health, safety, and environmental systems at our site. This hybrid position allows you to work both on-site and remotely, supporting design laboratories, office, and manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Manage safety programs and ensure adherence to OSHA and EHS standards.
  • Facilitate training sessions and provide coaching on HSE practices.
  • Collaborate with office staff and operations to maintain a safe work environment.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years\' experience in manufacturing occupational health and safety.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of key elements of an HSE program including ISO and OSHAS standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline.
  • Experience in facilitating trainings and coaching.
  • Willingness to seek accreditation as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or a Certified Health and Safety Consultant (SHSC).

Work Environment

Work in a state-of-the-art, protocol-driven facility that is clean and well-lit. This hybrid role allows you to work four days on-site and one day from home, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $36.05/hr.
