Fiber & Biomass Procurement Specialist (REMOTE, CANADA)

Ecostrat – a leader in the biomass supply chain sector – is recruiting for a Fiber and Biomass Procurement Specialist for its Advisory Group. The role is full‑time, remote (Canada), and offers a salary of $80,000–$100,000 per year plus bonus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct professional phone and email outreach to industry stakeholders to gather market and operational data, including suppliers, government agencies, local experts, and transportation companies.
  • Collect, verify, and organize information on biomass and organic feedstock supply, demand, and processing capacity.
  • Engage with forestry, composting, and anaerobic digestion facilities to understand feedstock flows, prices, procurement practice and competition.
  • Work closely with project managers and analysts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data collected.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers to ensure competitive supply options and risk diversification.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3‑years experience in forestry, wood products, composting, or anaerobic digestion industries.
  • Knowledge of biomass feedstock supply chains and procurement of feedstock for energy or materials use.
  • Professional phone manner with high comfort level with cold outreach and ability to communicate with all types of people from government to site staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (native speaker level). Bonus points for bilingual candidates.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and data organization.
  • Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
  • Strong team contributor and desire to do well for yourself (intrinsic) and others (extrinsic).
