Job summary

McDougall Energy Inc. in St. Thomas is seeking a Dispatcher to join our operations team. You will plan, organize and dispatch deliveries, direct drivers on routes, and coordinate with maintenance and customer requirements to maximize efficiency.

This role features 12-hour shifts from 6 AM to 6 PM on a rotating 2-3-2 schedule, with weekends and 14 days per 28-day cycle. We offer paid vacation, benefits, RRSP matching, EAP, and a supportive, inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Dispatch and logistics experience with knowledge of Southwestern Ontario.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
• Proficient computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Strong organization and time management with multi-tasking in fast-paced environments.
• Knowledge of DZ license and fuel delivery is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and dispatch all deliveries for efficiency.
• Provide route directions to drivers and meet customer requirements.
• Assist with repairs and truck maintenance with the Operations Manager.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
• Communicate delivery changes with customers.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and SOPs.
• Perform other office administration duties.

About The Opportunity

McDougall Energy is looking for a Dispatcher to join our St. Thomas team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Manager and / or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Performing other office administration duties as required

This Position Is Based On a Rotating Shift

SHIFT

12-hour shift duration, commencing at 6 AM and concluding at 6 PM

SCHEDULE

Rotational Shift Pattern (2-3-2), inclusive of weekends. Scheduled 14 days each 28-day cycle. Includes a three-day weekend every other week.

About You

• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of Southwestern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skillsAbility to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries’ practices and processes considered an asset
• DZ license considered an asset
