Job summary

McDougall Energy Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher to join our Burford team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate deliveries, assign routes, and optimize truck utilization to meet customer needs.

You will work with drivers and the operations team to troubleshoot issues, generate routine reports, and communicate delivery changes to customers. The role requires strong organization, attention to safety, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Experience in dispatch and logistics, preferably in Southwestern Ontario.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Well-organized, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements is an asset.
• DZ license is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and dispatch deliveries to maximize efficiency and equipment utilization.
• Provide directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance with Operations Manager/Lead Hands.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required.
• Communicate delivery changes and requirements to customers.
• Adhere to health and safety policies, SOPs and industry regulations.
• Perform other office administration duties as required.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

McDougall Energy is looking for a Dispatcher to join our Burford team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Manager and / or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Performing other office administration duties as required

This position is based on a rotating shift:

SHIFT

12-hour shift duration, commencing at 6 AM and concluding at 6 PM

SCHEDULE

Rotational Shift Pattern (2-3-2), inclusive of weekends. Scheduled 14 days each 28-day cycle. Includes a three-day weekend every other week.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have:

• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of Southwestern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries’ practices and processes considered an asset
• DZ license considered an asset
