Job summary

McDougall Energy Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher for our Goderich team. The role reports to the Operations Manager and focuses on planning, dispatching, and coordinating deliveries while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have dispatch and logistics experience, strong communication skills, and proficient MS Office knowledge. DZ license and TDG/WHMIS familiarity are assets for this position.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has dispatch and logistics experience with knowledge of Southwestern Ontario.
• Strong verbal and written communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and dispatch deliveries to maximize efficiency and equipment use.
• Provide directions to drivers on routes and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager/Lead Hands to troubleshoot truck maintenance.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
• Communicate delivery changes and issues with customers while maintaining safety policies.

About The Opportunity

McDougall Energy is looking for a Dispatcher to join our Goderich team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Manager and / or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Performing other office administration duties as required

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of Southwestern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries’ practices and processes considered an asset
• DZ license considered an asset
