Job summary

McDougall Energy in St. Thomas, Ontario, is seeking a Dispatcher to join our team reporting to the Operations Manager. You will plan, organize, and dispatch deliveries to maximize efficiency and ensure on-time service for customers.

You will direct drivers, troubleshoot truck maintenance with supervisors, generate regular reports, and communicate delivery changes while upholding health and safety policies. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Dispatch and logistics experience; knowledge of Southwestern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG is an asset
• Experience with fuel and propane delivery practices is an asset
• DZ license is considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and dispatch all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Provide directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance with Operations Manager/Lead Hands
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicate with customers regarding delivery requirements, schedule changes, and issues
• Adhere to health and safety policies, SOPs and industry regulations
• Perform other office administration duties as required

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

McDougall Energy is looking for a Dispatcher to join our St. Thomas team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Manager and / or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Performing other office administration duties as required

ABOUT YOU:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of Southwestern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries’ practices and processes considered an asset
• DZ license considered an asset
