Job summary

McDougall Energy in Sarnia, Ontario, is seeking a Dispatcher to plan and coordinate deliveries, optimize routes, and support daily operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will guide drivers, troubleshoot issues, and generate reports, ensuring safe, efficient service.

The ideal candidate has dispatch/logistics experience in Southwestern Ontario, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office. Asset consideration for a DZ license and TDG/WHMIS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Dispatch and logistics experience within Southwestern Ontario.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and MS Office familiarity.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of TDG/WHMIS is an asset.
• DZ license is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and dispatch deliveries to maximize efficiency.
• Provide directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager on repairs and maintenance.
• Generate daily/weekly/monthly reports as required.
• Communicate delivery changes with customers.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and SOPs.
• Perform other office administration duties as required.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

McDougall Energy is looking for a Dispatcher to join our Team in Sarnia. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Manager and / or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Performing other office administration duties as required

ABOUT YOU:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of Southwestern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries' practices and processes considered an asset
• DZ license considered an asset
