The Director of Engineering plays a critical leadership role in driving the growth and success of Tri-Mach Group by overseeing Engineering and Quality. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all Engineering activities at Tri-Mach (Stainless Division), Advance Millwrights (Mild Steel Division), and Industrial Contracting Solutions (Electrical Division)
  • Serve as a key contributor to strategic planning initiatives, including product development and market expansion
  • Lead post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and drive future improvements
  • Oversee quality systems ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards, Establish departmental reporting structures to enhance efficiency and autonomy
  • Drive product standardization in collaboration with manufacturing and customer requirements
  • Develop and implement performance metrics to monitor project progress, budget adherence, and schedule compliance.ards.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager to position Tri-Mach Group as an employer of choice, develop effective recruitment strategies, create detailed job descriptions, and onboarding programs, ensuring effective use of platforms such as ADP, SolidWorks, and PDM
  • Collaborate with the Training & Development Centre to design and deliver department-specific training programs
  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous learning, and professional development
  • Work with HR on organizational planning, performance management, and annual performance metrics.
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering preferred; Electrical Engineering or Industrial Automation also considered
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in engineering management
  • 5+ years in custom design/build of industrial equipment, material handling, and automation
  • Strong understanding of quality management standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory compliance
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of food industry standards, food safety, and sanitary design principles is an asset
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D), AutoCAD (2D); Inventor experience is an asset
  • Applied knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with automated equipment and metal fabrication processes
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to communicate technical designs effectively using 2D drawings
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to team success
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software
