Job Description
What is the opportunity?
- A Director level candidate is required to support the Head of Canadian Sales in Global Markets and their Operating Committee.
- The role reports into Sales Business Management, with accountability to help drive improved performance and operational effectiveness, as well as a proactive approach to controls and risk management. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to global and cross divisional initiatives as needed.
Global Sales Business Management responsibilities breakdown into four broad categories:
- Client & Sales Analysis – providing insightful and actionable insights, including early intervention on issues and replication of wins
- Client Relationship Management – driving client segmentation and ensuring client business plans are established, tracked & executed
- Client & Sales Infrastructure – develop and deliver with functional partners (namely Client Technology and BCS)
- Sales Management & Strategy – develop client segment strategies, associated resources plans, and conduct periodic deep dives / reviews
What will you do?
- Support the strategy to optimise financial performance, operational effectiveness, infrastructure, regulatory readiness, risk management and the control
- Support Sales with financial planning, forecasts and cost optimisation
- Partner with Client Technology in order to evolve applications and workflows; Client Intelligence to improve CV reporting
- Support regional processes, initiatives and business continuity plans as required
- Support Sales with client lifecycle management, including KYC
- Develop Sales KPIs and scorecards with Sales Heads
- Work in close coordination with Product Business Managers as required on various projects and new business proposals
- Act as a liaison between Front Office and internal support partners including Finance, BCS, GRM, QTS, Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit and Human Resources
- Manage remediation of issues arising from operational risk events, internal audits, Compliance reviews, regulator visits and those self-identified
- Ensure new staff are onboarded appropriately and in line with all Compliance and regulatory requirements
- Manage assigned approvals including invoices, CMACs, expenses and procurement
- Act as cover, support to other Business Managers globally
- Proactively identify operational risks / control deficiencies in the business and support remediation efforts
- Escalate operational risk events, control deficiencies and any other risks that you identify to management and the relevant risk and control functions promptly
- Support with Talent management /development activities, such as promotions, succession planning, org / structure changes, people development plans, performance
What do you need to succeed?
Required
- Capital Markets background with good knowledge of products, business risks and operational processes
- Educated to degree level
- Excellent Communication, Written, Analytical and Presentation skills
- High level of exposure dealing with front office staff and track record of providing innovative and effective solutions
Preferred
- Economics, math or accounting background
- Knowledge of AI/Macros/VBA
