Overview

We are looking for a Dental Assistant full-time for an Orthodontic office in Leaside.

As a Dental Assistant at Orthodontic Centre, you have a positive and enthusiastic attitude and enjoy working with both children and adults. You are a valuable team member within the clinic, ensuring the doctor and hygienists are well assisted. You are passionate about your job, detail oriented and proficient with computers.

Position / Job Requirements
  • Experienced Level II Dental Assistant
  • Have Dental Assistant Diploma
  • Have HARP certification
  • Asset if have Ortho experience otherwise open to training
Location

Bayview & Eglinton

Hours

Mon to Thurs 8-5:30, 1 hr lunch

Compensation

$25-30 depending on experience and performance

Responsibilities
  • Willing to train Dental assistant in Ortho procedures
  • Assisting Dentist with the initial exam by holding cheek retractors and taking notes
  • Doing intraoral and extraoral photography, and have solid digital competency—including uploading and adjusting images.
  • Taking intraoral scans and alginate impressions
  • Prepare orthodontic materials including mixing alginate and preparing Invisalign trays
  • Support the hygienist and doctor by providing assistance as required
  • Welcome, seat and dismiss patients
  • Engage patients to ensure a caring environment
  • Explain the procedures to patients/parents if appropriate
  • Inform administrative staff if supplies are running low / check inventory
  • Keep good records for sterilization
  • Maintenance and cleaning of Statim and Tuttnauer weekly/bi-weekly
  • Opening and closing duties as required
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with fellow team members to provide an atmosphere of trust, respect and cooperation
