Alstom is seeking a passionate and experienced Tax Manager in Canada. In this key role, you will be responsible for bids & projects, transfer pricing monitoring, and overall business support. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of challenging tax matters, collaborate with various stakeholders, and contribute to the success of a dynamic and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Bids & Projects:
    • Provide and implement tax advice for tax-optimized structures in bids and during project execution.
    • Advise on Canadian tax implications for domestic & cross-border transactions such as indirect taxes, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax, and permanent establishment issues.
    • Support reporting units on Transfer Pricing (TP) in accordance with Alstom's TP Policy, including monitoring projects.
  2. Tax Reporting, Compliance & Audits:
    • Manage Alstom's tax reporting with support from Finance.
    • Oversee all Canadian tax compliance, including TP documentation, Pillar 2, and R&D claims.
    • Coordinate strategies and activities related to tax audits, including international, withholding, domestic, sales tax, and government incentives like R&D tax credits.
  3. Business & Operational Tax Support:
    • Provide comprehensive tax support to business units on various tax matters.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of tax processes and systems.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities, Finance, Treasury, Legal, and Procurement.
    • Stay informed about changes in tax legislation and regulations, and assess their potential impacts on Alstom's operations.

Qualifications:

  • CPA professional accounting designation is required.
  • Specialization in taxation (CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or a Master's in Taxation) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in international and domestic tax.
  • Proficiency with tax tools and Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English.

Knowledge of a language other than French is an asset to facilitate communication with partners, suppliers, colleagues, and international clients. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.
