Job summary

Best Plumbing & Lighting is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to deliver exceptional customer service at the counter and over the phone. You will process orders, source materials, and provide pricing and product information while building strong customer relationships.

The role requires a proactive, sales-oriented approach with the ability to work Saturdays and take a day off in lieu during the week. Prior plumbing knowledge is a plus, and company benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and desire to learn and succeed.
• Post-Secondary courses in Plumbing or Heating are considered an asset.
• Experience serving and negotiating with institutional and industrial purchasers, plumbing contractors, and the public.
• Minimum 1 year knowledge of the plumbing and heating industry.

Responsibilities

• Offer exceptional customer service at the counter and over the phone.
• Respond to inquiries and process incoming calls and orders.
• Enter orders into the system.
• Source materials for customers when not in stock.
• Provide product information, pricing quotations, and follow-up on quotes.
• Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Handle counter sales and returns as required.
• Process priority orders and stock the counter area.

The Counter Sales Representative is an integral function in the branch’s ability to provide excellent customer service to all of Best’s clients. The position operates in a fast-paced, dynamic, rewarding environment and will assume responsibility for all counter sales and product returns while providing expertise as a member of the customer service team. This position will include Saturdays and have a day off in lieu of the Saturday throughout the week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Offering exceptional customer service at our counter and over the phone
• Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders
• Entering orders into the system
• Sourcing materials for customers when currently not in stock
• Providing product information, pricing quotations, and follow-up on quotes
• Offering technical expertise on products to purchasers
• Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Counter Sales and handling returns as required
• Picking Priority orders
• Closing orders and stocking bins
• Keeping counter and sales area clean
• Merchandising and showcasing product
• Other duties as required

• Ability to develop long-term relationships and generate referrals from your customers
