Best Plumbing & Lighting in Edmonton is seeking a friendly Counter Sales Representative who thrives on helping customers. You will handle counter and phone inquiries, process orders, and assist with product returns while delivering expert guidance to buyers.

This role requires you to source materials, provide pricing quotes, and maintain strong customer relationships in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Some Saturdays are required with a day off in lieu during the week.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Post-Secondary courses in Plumbing or Heating are assets
• Experience negotiating with purchasers and contractors
• Minimum 1 year knowledge of plumbing and heating industry

Responsibilities

• Offer exceptional customer service at counter and over the phone
• Respond to inquiries and process orders
• Enter orders into the system
• Source materials for customers when not in stock
• Provide product information and quotes
• Offer technical product expertise to purchasers
• Develop and maintain customer relationships
• Handle counter sales and returns
• Pick Priority orders

The Counter Sales Representative is an integral function in the branch’s ability to provide excellent customer service to all of Best’s clients. The position operates in a fast-paced, dynamic, rewarding environment and will assume responsibility for all counter sales and product returns while providing expertise as a member of the customer service team. This position will include Saturdays and have a day off in lieu of the Saturday throughout the week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Offering exceptional customer service at our counter and over the phone
• Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders
• Entering orders into the system
• Sourcing materials for customers when currently not in stock
• Providing product information, pricing quotations, and follow-up on quotes
• Offering technical expertise on products to purchasers
• Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Counter Sales and handling returns as required
• Picking Priority orders
• Closing orders and stocking bins
• Keeping counter and sales area clean
• Merchandising and showcasing product
• Other duties as required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Exceptional customer service
• Ability to assess customer needs, resolve issues quickly, and find solutions that balance customer satisfaction
• Ability to develop long-term relationships and generate referrals from your customers
• Impeccable organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Time management & multitasking skills to serve several customers at the same time
• Self-motivated; able to function effectively both independently and as a member of a team
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced work environment

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Candidates should possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn and succeed
• Post-Secondary courses in Plumbing or Heating are considered anasset
• Skilled in serving and negotiating with institutional and industrial purchasers, plumbing contractors, and the public
• Minimum 1 year knowledge of the plumbing and heating industry
