Job summary

Best Plumbing & Lighting in Edmonton is hiring for a Warehouse Associate to join our receiving team. You will accurately receive and store inbound materials, load/unload and move products, and operate forklifts to support efficient warehouse operations.

You will read work orders, update inventory locations, and maintain a clean workspace while helping teammates. Prior warehouse experience is a plus; candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous warehouse experience will be considered an asset.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment is an asset.
• Previous plumbing and/or electrical industry experience will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive and put away inbound material accurately and efficiently.
• Load, unload, sort and move products by hand or with basic equipment.
• Operate, navigate and drive company forklifts.
• Coordinate off-loading of inbound freight.
• Read work orders or receive instructions for assignments.
• Keep software updated for bin/overflow locations.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace throughout the shift.
• Provide on-the-job training to new/junior team members as required.
• Assist staff in locating product in the warehouse.
• Contribute information for incident reports related to health and safety.
• Ensure efficient space utilization in stocking goods.
• Handle fragile china/porcelain with extra care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Accurately & efficiently receive and put away inbound material
• Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment
• Operate, navigate and drive all company forklifts
• Co-ordinate the off-loading of inbound freight
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions for work assignments
• Continually update company software of any bin or overflow location changes
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace through the entire warehouse
• Provide on the job training to new/junior receiving team members as required
• Assist staff members in the research and locating of product in the warehouse
• Provide information for the completion of incident reports in relation to health and safety issues
• Ensure efficient space utilization in stocking goods
• Provide extra care in handling fragile china/porcelain products
• Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written and an ability to impart knowledge.
