Job summary

A leading cost control firm in St. John’s, NL is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Cost Controller. Responsibilities include preparing cost reports, managing work orders, and analyzing invoices. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and relevant experience in cost control. This role offers a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

• Proven cost control experience required, preferably in capital projects.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of accounting processes and software.
• Experience in the electric utility industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of monthly cost S-Curve files and capital metric consolidation.
• Complete cost reporting within Project Execution monthly reports including variance explanations.
• Create work orders and track costs.
• Complete projects forecasts.
• Prepare Capital Budget Change Orders and Cost Flows.

Overview

NSB Omega is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Cost Controller (Junior, Intermediate or Senior) in St. John’s, NL.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of monthly cost S-Curve files and capital metric consolidation
• Complete cost reporting within Project Execution monthly reports including variance explanations
• Create work orders and track costs
• Complete projects forecasts
• Prepare Capital Budget Change Orders, Contract Change Orders and Cost Flows
• Prepare Requisitions, Purchasing Exception Reports and Approval to Awards
• Prepare quarterly commitments
• Analyze and code invoices
• Complete progress billings
• Record, track, forecast and report on work under the In-Service Failure programs
• Complete project close out documents for Finance including Interest Cut off and Asset Assignment Forms

Requirements

• Relevant proven cost control experience is required, preferably in a capital project environment
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a similar field
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of accounting processes and software
• Experience in the electric utility industry is considered an asset
