About the role:

Reporting to the Superintendent, Closure, the Coordinator, Health and Safety manages site health and safety programs, ensuring the safety of employees and contractors. The role requires multitasking, organization, and collaboration with stakeholders on safety initiatives. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

You will have the chance to improve health and safety performance, working with site departments and the EVR safety team. The position is based in Hinton, Alberta, offering outdoor recreation opportunities and a work-life balance with a compressed work week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and adhere to health and safety policies
• Supervise loss prevention officers
• Apply continuous improvement processes
• Lead contractors and teams on safety controls and standards
• Manage safety systems, audits, inspections, and contractor management
• Oversee drug and alcohol testing, noise, dust monitoring, and hygiene programs
• Maintain regulatory relationships and compliance
• Support safety programs at the closed Bullmoose mine
• Manage contractors and safety support for the site

Minimum Requirements:

• Knowledge of Alberta OHS and BC HSRC regulations
• OFA III or Advanced First Aid certification
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Supervision experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license; Class 4 is an asset
• Experience or certification in drug and alcohol testing (asset)
• Health and Safety certification or degree (asset)
• Mine rescue or emergency response experience (asset)
• Experience in mining, processing, construction, or heavy industry (asset)
