Qualifications

  • Degree/diploma in a Construction related education program and/or an equivalent combination of technical training & experience.
  • Experience working on a construction project and understanding of a typical construction project’s phases, processes, and documentation.
  • Proficient in contract drawing and specification interpretation.
  • Understanding contract terms & conditions, insurance policies, and insurance claims management would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Assist with the programs, systems and services of the insurance requirements for the organization.
  • Utilize established processes and procedures to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating potential contractual, financial and/or performance risks.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders regarding contractual matters and claims.
  • Conduct research, create reports and present findings.

NAC is currently seeking a Construction Contracts & Claims Analyst to join our Risk Management department at our Head Office location in Morriston, ON.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Risk & Legal Manager, the Construction Contracts & Claims Analyst will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the contracts, claims & risk aspects of the projects. From reviewing contract terms, processing claims and change requests, and ensuring internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained

Job Description
  • Assist with the programs, systems and services of the insurance requirements for the organization
  • Utilize established processes and procedures to ensure compliance with contract requirements
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating potential contractual, financial and/or performance risks
  • Interact with various internal and external stakeholders with respect to contractual matters, issues, claims etc., including: Procurement services, Legal Counsels, external claims, consultants and contractors
  • Assist and support the project teams with documenting, evaluating and processing change requests
  • Assist and support with the processing of contractor claims, construction delay and impact claims
  • Conduct research, create reports and present findings based on projects and operational requirements
  • Review contract documents to understand scope of work and contractual obligations
  • Other departmental projects and initiatives as required
Requirements
  • Degree/diploma in a Construction related education program and/or an equivalent combination of technical training & experience.
  • Experience working on a construction project and understanding of a typical construction project’s phases, processes, and documentation
  • Proficient in contract drawing and specification interpretation
  • Understanding contract terms & conditions, insurance policies, and insurance claims management would be an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Work effectively independently, with minimal supervision
