Job summary

Extendicare in London, Ontario, is seeking a Part-time Personal Support Worker to deliver compassionate personal care and support residents with daily living activities under supervision. You will follow the plan of care, assist with mobility, meals, hygiene, and monitor health changes.

You will show strong communication, organizational skills, and a respectful approach to privacy and dignity while promoting safety and well-being in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Personal Support Worker program (or provincial equivalent) with minimum 600 hours theory & practicum.
• Experience working with seniors in community health services setting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and customer focus.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the supervisor and assist with activities of daily living.
• Facilitate residents' mobility, transfers and ambulation with appropriate assistance.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to supervisor and escalate as needed.
• Provide personal care, hygiene support and nutritious meal assistance.
• Maintain resident information confidentiality and promote safety and dignity at all times.
