Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker program (or provincial equivalent with 600 hours theory & practicum).
• Experience working with seniors in community health services.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer focus skills.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Ability to perform lifting/transferring tasks as needed.
• Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the supervisor.
• Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to supervisor.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and mobility.
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents/families.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Respond to concerns and escalate as needed within authority.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
