Job summary

Open Door Group in Edmonton is seeking a Service Navigator to support individuals facing barriers to employment, helping them achieve greater life stability, career readiness and meaningful employment outcomes. You will work with clients to identify personalized goals and practical pathways that reflect their strengths and lived experiences.

The role links clients with housing supports, mental health services, education and training opportunities, and wraparound employment supports.

Qualifications

• Completion of Social Services Diploma, or related education.
• Minimum two years of recent, related experience.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (can be acquired after hire).
• Certificates in CPR and First Aid.
• Naloxone Training.
• Valid Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle during work hours, with ability to travel as required.
• Must maintain a satisfactory criminal record, including vulnerable sector check.
• Strong understanding of Disability, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles and human rights legislation.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to identify individualized goals related to life stability, employment readiness, and community connection.
• Connect clients with housing supports, mental health services, food security programs, vocational supports, and employment opportunities.
• Build trusting and respectful relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, using trauma-informed approaches.
• Respond to crisis situations and advocate for services that promote stability, independence, and meaningful participation in employment and community life.
