Our client is a well-established, mid-sized manufacturing company with locations in Georgetown and Brampton. They are seeking a hands-on and experienced Shop Manager to lead daily operations in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong mechanical engineering background and a solid understanding of machining, fabrication, and CNC operations.

The Shop Manager will coordinate across multiple departments, drive workflow efficiency, and implement process improvements to meet production targets and quality standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who is comfortable working on the floor and managing teams.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage daily shop operations across multiple production teams.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with CNC operators, welders, fabricators, and other departments to ensure streamlined workflow.
  • Monitor and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, safety, and output.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production challenges as they arise.
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide production activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Provide hands-on support when needed, including TIG welding tasks.
  • Travel between shop locations in Mississauga and Guelph as required.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a machining or fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, welding, and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Comfortable performing hands-on tasks, including TIG welding.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel between locations.
