Job Details

  • Work site environment: Non‑smoking, scent‑free.
  • Work setting: Employer's home. Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live‑in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment.
  • Location: Oakville, ON L6M 5G2 (On site)
  • Salary: $20.85 per hour / 32.5 hours per week
  • Terms of employment: Permanent, full time. Morning, Day shifts. Starts as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • Shop for food and household supplies.
  • Bathe, dress and feed infants and children.
  • Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents.
  • Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
  • Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
  • Organize activities such as games and outings for children.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
  • Supervise and care for children.
  • Take children to and from school and to appointments.
  • Tend to emotional well‑being of children.
  • Cook.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Personal suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, time management, patience, honesty.
  • Security and safety: Criminal record check.
  • Transportation: Public transportation available.
