Healthcare Security Guards work in various healthcare settings. The role may be physically demanding due to the size of the building and requires flexibility to work day and overnight shifts.

Job Skills / Requirements

We are hiring casual Security Guards to work at hospitals in Brooks and surrounding areas. Some travel may be required.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service and assistance, maintaining effective relationships with clients and patrons
• Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety, address policy breaches, and note concerns
• Respond to and investigate security alarms and emergencies promptly and professionally
• De-escalate crisis situations, support, and liaise with emergency personnel such as police, fire, and paramedics
• Exercise crowd control and manage trespassers
• Write clear, detailed reports, including incident, emergency, liability, and daily reports
• Provide first aid and medical response when required
• Use two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
• Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries

Job Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a valid Alberta security license
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong customer service skills
• Sharp observational skills
• Ability to make quick decisions and remain calm in emergencies with minimal supervision
• Ability to walk 18-20 km and stairs

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

Certification Requirements:

• Valid Security License (required before first shift; assistance with licensing provided)
