Qualifications

  • Must be 19 years or older.
  • Ability to obtain RCMP Reliability Clearance.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Meet RCMP-V4 visual standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg, bend, and climb stairs.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly observe and check prisoners, including monitoring via CCTV.
  • Aid RCMP members as required and manage meal organization.
  • Maintain a detailed prisoner activity logbook.
  • Ensure cleanliness of cells and conduct searches before and after occupation.
  • Maintain cellblock security, ensuring cell doors are always locked.
  • Monitor and adhere to fire safety protocols.
  • Handle and dispense approved medications and laundry items under direction of RCMP members.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the detachment.
